Aperture Christmas 2014

I kiiiinda went away from the prompt but I just couldn’t let go this image of Chell trying to bring the Christmas atmosphere to dark and steril bowels of Aperture, giving everyone little knitted presents.

(She didn’t dare to offer one to GLaDOS but instead she brought her this odd painting that GLaDOS used to mention once in a while but was too proud to go and retrieve it herself. Her gift was received surprisingly well and Chell could just swear she saw this… something, flickering in GLaDOS seemingly cold robotic eyes, when her gaze met the one of the mysterious painted lady… only to lay on the man’s face for a brief yet somehow very touching moment.)

While Chell’s running around GLaDOS tries to look disinterested but smiles over her coffee every once in a while, when she’s sure no one’s looking. At one point she even made a Christmas tree out of her panels (a real one was out of the question, I mean come on, some green stuff littering her pristine floors? Never). She’s really proud of this one, but of course she’d rather wear one of Chell’s knitted sweaters than admit it.

Meanwhile Wheatley hovers above Chell with a mistletoe (yes, he actuallydidsome research this time and didn’t go with the holly like last year, it’s a common mistake, everyone knows what’s it’s supposed to be anyway), although he’s not actually sure what’s it supposed to mean and why is Chell so amused every time she catches a glimpse of this little plant. He just wants to be festive, colorful flickering lights, cosy scarves, mistletoes, it’s all Christmas-y, right?

So yeaaaah, suddenly I got hit with a headcanon or whatnot. And stuffed a ton of fluff and friendship inside, like I seem to do much lately.And uh, I have a feeling it should have been more Cave here… yet I unintentionally even managed to cover his face on a painting. I swear it was an accident! Please forgive me.
